Energies of line singularities in 3He-A

Abstract

We investigate a class of topologically equivalent line singularities in 3He-A to determine which of this class has the lowest free energy density. Most of our results concern the Landau-Ginzburg regime near T c ; we offer a speculation on what might occur further below T c .
