Immature teratoma of the rectum presenting with prolapse per anum

Abstract

A girl is reported in whom an immature teratoma of the rectum presented with prolapse per anum. Rectal teratomas are rare, and presentation as a prolapsed pedunculated polyp per anum is reported here for the first time. The patient was managed by surgical excision alone and is recurrence-free after 3 years.
