Summary
In order to study the value of the ‘cortisone test’ for the diagnosis of doubful cases of open-angle glaucoma 52 eyes of 27 patients were submitted to topically applied steroid for 6 weeks. They were divided into 3 groups according to the increased level of the intraocular pressure. As soon as the intraocular pressure was back to its pre-steroid values every eye was submitted to tonography and daily curve of pressures.
