Summary
CaCo 2 and MDCK epithelial cells, cultivated on transparent polyethylene terephthalate or polycarbonate Cyclopore microporous membranes, adhere as good, grow and differentiate faster than on tissue culture polystyrene or Millicell CM culture inserts. The rate of growth of MDCK cells is slightly increased by raising pore density or diameter of PETP membranes, whereas that of CaCo 2 cells is decreased when pore diameter is raised.
