Summary
The ability of tangential flow filtration to separate enzymes from cell debris in bacterial homogenates has been studied. Homogenates of two organisms which are difficult to clarify by centrifugation were tested. Ultrafiitration membranes gave very low enzyme yields in the filtrates. However, microfiltration membranes gave clear filtrates containing high yields of enzyme.
