Computation and observation of Zeeman multiplet polarization in Fraunhofer lines

II: Computation of stokes parameter profiles

Solar Physics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

A self-contained summary of the generalized Unno theory of LTE line formation in solar magnetic fields and its application to the numerical computation of Stokes parameter profiles is given. Within this context, computational details of general interest are described and numerical results for sunspot fields are given. Finally, a new method of computing the height of line formation is presented.
