Summary
A rapid, easy and reproducible method for the quantitative determination of the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) content from unpurified samples is based on fluorescence emitted by DNA-ethidium bromide complex in agarose gel under UV-illumination at a wavelength of 254 nm. No interference is caused by proteins or RNA.
