Summary
Optimal conditions for the transformation of Bacillus subtilis by electroporation were achieved. Frequencies of greater than 105 transformants/μg of plasmid DNA were obtained for a number of strains and plasmids. Increased transformation efficiency of mini-prep DNA from B. subtilis and Escherichia coli was obtained after microdialysis.
