Abstract

New observations of the [Caii] λ7323 Fraunhofer line are reported. The blending H2O line was weak at the time of observation. Accurate estimates of the centre-limb variation of the equivalent width of the [Caii] transition are obtained and shown to be consistent with the calcium abundance log N(Ca) = 6.33.
