Summary
The increasing number of publications dealing with aqueous veins and related problems calls for a review of the terms used in the description of the biomicroscopically visible elimination of aqueous humour. The names given, in different languages, to the aqueous veins, their recipient vessels and the compression tests performed on them are enumerated. It is explained why the usual term collectors should be replaced by the expression outlets of Schlemm's canal., The pitfalls of terms like “apparent outflow pressure” and “turbulence”, used in connection with phenomena observed on aqueous veins, are outlined.
