Abstract
Chiasma frequency in spermatocytes was found to show extensive variation between individual males from a natural population of the marsupial Trichosurus vulpecula. Two factors which might contribute to the observed variation were investigated; season and age. However, neither of these had any significant effect on chiasma frequency or chiasma frequency variation.
