Summary
It is feasible to produce ethanol by continuous fermentation of molasses-stillage medium, without any supplementation, employing calcium alginate immobilized cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. High flow rates generated high values for the productivity; however, the percent substrate conversion decreases with the dilution rate.
