The use of engineerized yeast cells to perform aldol condensation

Summary

Recombinant yeast cells overexpressing FDP aldolase were used to perform condensation between phenylacetaldehyde and endogeneous DHAP. (3S, 4R)-1,3,4-trihydroxy-5-phenyl-2-pentanone (1) was isolated.
