Calculation of the thermal conductivity of a normal metal in contact with a superconductor

  • Published:
Journal of Low Temperature Physics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

The thermal conductivity of a normal metal in contact with a superconductor has been calculated, based on the model of de Gennes and Saint James. The temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity increases more rapidly than linearly in temperature in contrast to the calculation of Andreev. The effects of mean free path, normal metal thickness, and nonzero pair potential in the normal metal are considered.
