  • Published:
Hydrobiologia Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

  1. 1.

Few lakes in southern Michigan have been studied limnologically, and there are few publications on the algal ecology of the state.

  2. 2.

The general physical and chemical characteristics of a typical eutrophic lake in southern Michigan are presented.

  3. 3.

Relationships between the quantity and quality of the phytoplankton and certain factors of water chemistry are discussed.

  4. 4.

A systematic list of the algae of Jordan Lake is presented.
