Summary
Phenotypic abnormalities such as heteromorphic pollen grains and suppressed terminal vegetative bud were noticed in the polyploids of Nicotiana umbratica-glutinosa which was completely absent in the reciprocal polyploids. This was attributed to the interaction of the cytoplasm of the female parent with the nuclear components of the male parent.
