Abstract
In an experiment comparing the response of four varieties of arabica coffee seedlings to differing water regimes, significant varietal differences in growth and relative turgidity were found. Bugisu Local, a variety of arabica grown in the Mount Elgon area of Uganda, which had the greater growth rate also had the lowest relative turgidity.
