Summary

A quantitative assay of insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone is described. The assay is based on the quantitation of added tannic acid remaining in solution after partial removal by adsorption on insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone. The method is accurate in the range 1–10 mg/ml.
