Summary
Amendment of groundut cake stimulated bacterial and fungal populations in rhizospheres of Rumex, okra, and clusterbean. Maximum rhizosphere effect was noticed when the plants were six to eight weeks old. There has however a reduced stimulation in the populations with increasing levels of aflatoxins in the cake used as amendment. Bacteria were depressed to a greater extent than fungi. Aflatoxin containing cake did not influence germination of test plants. re]19730409
