Abstract
Information on the distribution of 45 sessile rotifers from diverse freshwaters in south and central Sweden was analyzed to reveal possible relationships to their substrates. Almost all of them showed an exclusively periphytic occurrence. The highest number of species was found on Utricularia, but otherwise it was not possible to correlate rotifer presence to any special macrophyte or category of plants (e.g., fine-leaved or floating-leaved species).
