Abstract

Three species ofDaphnia are recorded from natural lakes and reservoirs in Brazil:Daphnia gessneri, Herbst, 1967,Daphnia ambigua, Scourfield, 1947 andDaphnia laevis, Birge, 1878. Some comments on their geographical distribution and ecology are made, showing the trend of the presence of these species in eutrophicated environments.
