Synopsis
Plasma levels of free amino acids were compared in recently fed sturgeon and in those deprived of food for over two weeks. Fed animals had elevated levels of branched chain amino acids. It is suggested that the higher levels of these amino acids are due to reduced metabolism of these amino acids as well as high levels in the food.
