At Agritechnica 2019, MAN Engines is presenting the D4276, a powerful diesel engine for heavy agricultural machinery applications. The 16.2-l engine is based on the D3876 series, which has been successfully launched on the market since 2014, and is distinguished in particular by its higher output. This was achieved, among other things, by increasing the displacement, modifying the common rail injection system, pistons and liners.

General Conditions

The D4276 is based on the D3876 engine series, but rather than a bore of 138 mm, its bore is 4 mm larger. The new engine also has a stroke of 170 mm. As a result, with its 16.2 l displacement, the D4276 is the most powerful in-line six-cylinder engine for off-road applications that MAN has ever developed. Thanks to different charging concepts, the 1280 kg light engine is available with two power characteristics of up to 515 or 581 kW. The 515 kW version is particularly effective in heavy-duty applications that require a high torque and high...
