In a case report, a 40-year-old woman developed severe hypotension following treatment with bupivacaine, fentanyl, morphine and oxytocin, and a 33-year-old woman developed severe hypotension following treatment with bupivacaine, fentanyl, lidocaine, morphine and oxytocin.
Patient 1: A 40-year-old woman had a history of hypertension and proteinuria. She was receiving treatment with telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide and amlodipine for hypertension. During further testing for secondary hypertension by a nephrologist, an abdominal ultrasound confirmed that she was pregnant. Her BP was 193/133mm Hg.
