Low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation not only offers the possibility of reducing NOx emissions inside gasoline engines, but also a consumption potential. This article by Pierburg and the Ford Research & Innovation Center Aachen portrays the control possibilities offered by the application of this technology using a dynamic simulation environment. The basis for the simulations is a large database generated by a Design-of-Experiment procedure.
