BorgWarner | A Stake in Autotech Ventures

BorgWarner is investing ten million US dollars in the Autotech Ventures Venture Capital Fund. The fund aims to facilitate partnerships between financial investors, strategic corporate investors and start-ups. James R. Verrier, President and CEO of BorgWarner, explains: "Over the past year and a half, we have made considerable progress in terms of further developing our company. Acquiring Remy, a leading electronic component manufacturer, in 2015, helped us consolidate our expertise in the area of electrical technologies. In 2016, we also signed several customer contracts in the hybrid and electric drive fields." The company plans to continue this course in 2017. By investing in Autotech Ventures, BorgWarner is gaining an overview of several hundred start-ups, all of which are working globally on the transportation of the future.
