Impact of RDE Legislation on Test-bed Measurements

Real Driving Emissions (RDE) legislation introduces on-the-road testing for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, which will significantly affect not just certification, but also engine and vehicle development as well as field monitoring. In light of these new legal requirements, Horiba Europe describes the impact of RDE legislation on future test-bed measurements as well as supporting solutions.

Real Driving Emissions Legislation

Two years ago the Member States of the European Union agreed a set of new requirements and testing procedures for certifying passenger cars and light commercial vehicles on the road, using portable emission measuring technology (the Portable Emission Measurement System, PEMS).
