Schaeffler | CEO Automotive
Matthias Zink joined the executive board of Schaeffler at the start of the year. As co-CEO automotive, he is responsible for the transmission systems and automotive aftermarket business units and for the research and development department of the automotive division. He succeeds Norbert Indlekofer (59) who left the company at his own request. Matthias Zink, who is 47, studied mechanical engineering with a focus on automotive engineering at the University of Karlsruhe. He then joined the Schaeffler company LuK as a test engineer. After this he held a number of different management positions, before being appointed Head of the Clutch Systems business unit in 2006. He became Head of the company's automotive division for the Asia Pacific region in China in 2012. In 2014, he began managing the transmission technologies business unit, before taking over responsibility for the transmission systems division in July of that year.
