Volvo | New R&D Senior Vice President

Henrik Green will become Volvo's new Senior Vice President for Research & Development, the Swedish carmaker has announced. The 43-year-old has given the company two decades of service, most recently as Senior Vice President Sales and Production Planning & Customer Service. He succeeds Peter Mertens, who will leave the company at his own request to join Audi as Board of Management Member for Technical Development. Since joining in 1996, Green has held several senior management positions in both Sweden and China. He has many years of experience in research and development, particularly in the fields of powertrain, as well as software and control systems. Green was one of the leading figures behind Volvo's decision to move to four- and three-cylinder engines.
