Software-supported Thermal Management Design for a Small Industrial Diesel Engine

The new three and four cylinder engine series from Hatz GmbH & Co. KG sets new standards in its performance class regarding fuel efficiency, power-to-weight ratio and also in environmental aspects. Its development involved a technology shift from air cooling to water cooling. The development process for designing the demanding cooling system was based systematically on simulations using the tool LMS Imagine.Lab Amesim, from Siemens PLM Software.

Water-Cooled Engine Series

Hatz is renowned throughout the world for its robust and durable industrial Diesel engines, with powers ranging from 1.5 to 56 kW.
