Product Development Process for the Chassis

The change of the automotive industry toward electric mobility leads to complex development processes for the modern chassis. Not only the integration of electric high-voltage drives, but also their industrialization into existing production structures should be a central theme. This complex challenge exists for the chassis because of the tense geometrical conditions between all chassis components in the axle space. Technische Universität Chemnitz and BMW Group have jointly developed a new approach which enables the identification of geometrical dependencies between components and production tools and optimizes them using virtual assembly simulations.
