De waarde van vragenlijsten bij de diagnostiek van LUTS; invoeren in de praktijk?

Samenvatting

Vragenlijsten kunnen bij mannen die met plasklachten bij de huisarts komen een ondersteuning bieden bij de anamnese. Hoewel er geen evidence is dat de diagnostiek van mannen met LUTS hierdoor verbetert, kan een gestructureerde lijst met vragen over de mate van ernst en hinder van de klachten erbij helpen om de communicatie tussen patiënt en huisarts te optimaliseren en kunnen klachten, al of niet na instelling van een behandeling, makkelijker in de tijd vervolgd worden. Geadviseerd wordt om te kiezen voor de meest gebruikte vragenlijst, de Internationale prostaatsymptoomscore (IPSS), die ook digitaal beschikbaar is en voorafgaand aan het consult thuis kan worden ingevuld.
