Identifizierung von Promotoren in Corynebacterium glutamicum

The high-throughput sequencing of cDNA derived from whole transcript — omes (RNA-Seq) has revolutionized studies of bacterial transcription. We optimized and applied RNA-Seq for the genome-wide determination of transcription starts and their associated promoters using as an example of the biotechnologically relevant microorganism Corynebacterium glutamicum. By applying a method named 5′-RNA-Seq we were able to identify thousands of promoters in this organism.
