A new species and a new synonym of Begonia from Bolivia

Abstract

Begonia cremnophila is described and illustrated as a new species. It is compared with B. weddelliana, and a description of that species is also provided. Begonia davisii is typified and newly synonymized with B. weddelliana.

Resumen

Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie, Begonia cremnophila. Es semejante a B. weddelliana del norte de Bolivia, que también se encuentra sobre barrancas y acantilados sombreados y en bosque húmedo tropical en las estribaciones orientales de los Andes. Begonia davisii es recién synonimizada con B. weddelliana.
