Exclusive breastfeeding is the most ideal feed for all newborns and young infants. Mother’s milk has several benefits for the baby. Even among very preterm and sick babies who cannot suck directly from the breast, expressed breast milk can be given by feeding tube or paladai. One may use milk from a human milk bank when milk from the baby’s biological mother is not available due to some reason.
