1st UK Purine Symposium

19th November 2009

Dear All

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Sheffield for the 1st UK Purine Symposium. The purpose of the symposium is to bring together researchers from across the UK interested in all aspects of Purine research.

Due to the time and effort of the abstract scoring panel [Ruth Murell-Lagnado (Cambridge), Sheila Francis (Sheffield), Samuel Fountain (Leeds), Bronwen Evans (Cardiff) and Jean-Marie Boeynaems (Brussels)] in what was a very hard task of scoring the high quality abstracts submitted, we have an exciting and interesting programme of selected oral presentations from a diverse set of scientists — in terms of subject, location and also career stage. We also have invited lectures from two internationally renowned scientists — Prof Francesco Di Virgilio and Alexej Verkhratsky. In addition, we have an excellent set of poster presentations which I am looking forward to viewing and discussing in a congenial setting during the wine reception!
