Calculation of the Efficiency of Inertialess Flotation of Disklike Particles

Abstract

The hydrodynamics of the flotation entrainment of disklike particles by a rising bubble is considered. Using stochastic methods for specifying the orientation of particles with respect to the bubble surface, analytical expressions for the particle entrainment efficiency for the potential and Stokes bubble rise patterns are obtained.
