Effectiveness of Different Designs of Refractory Linings for Rotary Kilns in Relation to Their Thermophysical Properties

Article

A new design is presented for a refractory lining to be used in rotary furnaces. The temperature fields for the new design and the existing design are calculated with the use of the software packages Ansys Fluent and Ansys ICEM. The thermophysical characteristics of both designs are compared and recommendations are given on the new lining’s areas of application.
