Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

Formation of inclusion complexes from disulfiram and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin was confirmed using x-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetry followed by IR spectroscopy of the evolved gas mixture. Inclusion complexes were prepared in two ways using EtOH or distilled H2O as the solvent. Formation of an inclusion complex increased the thermal stability of disulfiram. Biological studies showed that the disulfiram inclusion complex was effective for preventing cataracts in OXYS rats.
