A series of new urea derivatives were synthesized from (1S,2S)-2-amino-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3-propanediol and their antimicrobial activities were studied. Of the eight ureas synthesized here, only one compound had weak antimicrobial activity in relation to B. cereus and Candida spp.
