A triiodide-selective sensor with a plasticized polyvinyl chloride membrane was developed. The electrode contained an ion associate of rhodamine triiodide 6 J and the response was linear over the I 3 – concentration range 9 × 10 –6 to1 × 10 –1 M with an electrode function slope of (60.0 ± 1.1) – (70.0 ± 1.3) mV/pC. The sensor was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric assay of selenium (IV) in the mineral complex “Selen-Active.”
