Introduction to Special Issue of the 23rd International Conference on Multimedia Modeling (MMM 2017)

This special issue of Multimedia Tools and Applications contains selected papers from the 23rd International Conference on Multimedia Modeling (MMM 2017), which was held in Reykjavík, Iceland, on January 4–6, 2017. The conference was attended by around 150 participants from all over the world, with an interest in multimedia modeling and analytics.

Four papers from MMM 2017 have been selected for publication in this special issue. These papers were revised by their authors and went through a regular review process. We would like to thank the following people who volunteered their time to help with the reviews for this special issue: Claudiu Cobârzan (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria), Ichiro Ide (Nagoya University, Japan), Markus Koskela (University of Helsinki, Finland), Pascal Mettes (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Milos Radovanovic (University of Novi Sad, Serbia), Stevan Rudinac (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Phan Sang (National Institute of Informatics, Japan), Marcel Worring (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Keiji Yanai (University of Electro-Communications, Japan), and Hanwang Zhang (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore).
