Determination of the True Temperature of an Object from Thermal Imaging Measurements

It is shown theoretically that it is possible to determine experimentally the true temperature of a distant object for unknown values of its emittance and attenuation factor of the IR-radiation in the intermediate medium – the atmosphere. Some experimental data are presented.
