Dosimetric studies and chemical kinetics of Resazurin dye and its possible use as radiation dosimeter

An aqueous solution of pH indicator Resazurin dye (RZ) with and without containing chloral hydrate as an additive substance was studied for use as a liquid dosimeter. The dosimeter covers a range extended from 50 to 650 Gy depending on the concentration of both dye and chloral hydrate. Some of the properties about the dosimetry behavior were studied: its response to irradiation, the stability of dosimeter before and after irradiation, and an effect of different acidity on the response curve, G-value, the uncertainty of the measurement. All the recorded values encourage using this dosimeter in many sensitive dose applications.
