Causes of Technogenic Earthquake during Open Mining in the Khibiny Apatite Deposits

Abstract

Based on an analysis of the results obtained from calculation of stress state in a rock mass in the vicinity of an open-pit mining under the action of gravitational and tectonic forces, the causes are substantiated for the technogenic earthquake in the Tsentralny mine of the “Apatit” Joint-Stock Company.
