Highly electrically conductive and smart fire-resistant coating

Abstract
Polymeric materials have been large-scale applications. However, highly flammable have always been main limitations to their application. Herein, we have fabricated a novel “smart” fire-retardant coating with high electrical conductivity and fire-resistant properties for polymeric materials. The smart coating can significantly improve the fire-resistant of the conductive coating. The as-prepared conductive and fire-resistant coating showed excellent flame retardancy and high electrical conductivity. The electrical conductivity and flame retardancy properties were controlled by the “smart” coating. Importantly, the highly conductive and fire-resistant coating can be used as a fire-shielding protector and wearable electronics.
