Abstract

It is emphasized that the formulation developed by Liu by taking into account the variation of the Anderson–Grüneisen parameter with volume for the temperature dependence of thermal expansivity is not consistent with the earlier studies performed by Anderson and coworkers. The results obtained from the Liu formulation do not present any improvement over the Anderson model which is based on the constant value of the Anderson–Grüneisen parameter independent of temperature for a given material.
