Response to Comments to “Assessment of formaldehyde levels in relation to respiratory and allergic symptoms in children from Alba County schools, Romania” by Neamtiu et al. (2019), EMAS-D-19-03278 for Environmental Monitoring and Assessment

On behalf of all co-authors of the manuscript “Assessment of formaldehyde levels in relation to respiratory and allergic symptoms in children from Alba County schools, Romania” by Neamtiu et al. (2019), I have included below a response to some aspects raised in the Comments to our aforementioned article, trying to shed light on what we thought was perhaps, misunderstood in our article.

First of all, I would like to clarify what I believe it was misunderstood in our study conclusion—the Comments author says that we concluded we found an association (and my perception is that this term “association” has only the meaning of causality for him) between asthma and formaldehyde, which is not at all what we say in the conclusion, as a matter of fact.
