This book is unique in concept providing a prospectus on the current state of the science surrounding aquatic macrophyte risk assessment considerations for pesticides. It was the result of a workshop (Aquatic Macrophyte Risk Assessment for Pesticides or AMRAP) held in Wageningen, the Netherlands in January of 2008 and sponsored by the European branch of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). The AMRAP group has since morphed into the SETAC science advisory group ‘Aquatic Macrophyte Ecotoxicology Group’ or AMEG. Arranged into six main chapters the book attempts to address the central theme concerning the adequacy of current regulatory test requirements to protect aquatic macrophyte communities.
