Wokje Abrahamse: Encouraging pro-environmental behaviour: What works, what doesnt, and why. London: Elsevier, 2019. ISBN 978-0-12-811359-2. 184 pp., USD 74.95.

The book examines the main drivers of human behaviour related to environmental sustainability and how environmental behaviour change can be encouraged by initiatives to mitigate climate change. The author starts out by exploring underlying barriers and enablers of environmental behaviour, as well as theoretical approaches from psychology. Using theory-based research in the development of behaviour-change interventions, the book critically evaluates empirical evidence on the effectiveness of those interventions and might inspire policymakers and policy scholars designing better demand-side climate policies.
